the theremin is more or less considered as a strange instrument... why not to continue in this direction and add something to the strangeness. After some research on existing material and some advice from music stores, I decided to acquire a "KAOSS PAD 3" from KORG.
this famous KP3 can change the sound of the instrument, choosing from an effects library, configurable and modifiable at will:
Filter (16 types)
EQ (2 types)
Modulation (12 types)
Compressor (2 types)
LFO (25 types)
Delay (16 types)
Reverb (6 types)
Grain Shifter (5 types)
Looper (13 types)
Sample Effect (7 types)
Sample Bank Crossfade (4 types)
Drums (6 types)
Synthesizer (10 types)
Vocoder (4 types)
the touch screen allows you to see which effect modulation is chosen and vary it very intuitively, quickly and directly.
for backup, no problem, everything is recorded onto a 2GB SD card !

My parents had an old radio in 1958. A "SABA Freudenstadt 8 ". They did not know what to do with it. FM was not working, so they no longer saw the need to keep it. However, this type of radio has tubes and an input for amplifying a turntable.
I grabbed the radio, and make appropriate connections to switch from mono Jack connector to old radio input.
After some bass and treble adjustments, I get excellent sound quality, great round and a nice warm.
the pleasure of playing the theremin is still growing. What happiness!
the only disadvantage of this solution is that it's not easily transportable, and especially not outside...

So theremin is OK (I mean everything is functional). But How does it sound when you have no real amp for this ?
The only amp I have at this time is a Roland Micro Cube....mmmhh well, how will I describe what comes out this tiny thing ? It's simply like a Vuvuzela ! But at least it
makes sound.
there's still an advantage : the portability. it's light and autonomous. At this point, it came the idea to put the theremin"out of the inside", to make sort of anywhere
anytime stages. But first I have to practice, then to find the proper equipment for this.

August 2009
Finally, I have my theremin, brand new. Put it on the table, read the owner's maual, plug the instrument in...
And like every (I assume !) first time player, make some weard sounds with it, till I thought that was enough for funny tries. Let's do something more interresting.
First attempt was an excerpt of Chronologie from Jean-Michel Jarre...well that was an attempt ! Then the Ave Maria from Schubert. (Ok an attempt too !) BUT at least we could recognize an overoal
melody.
Since this time, the theremin became a part of my life.

First look at a theremin was August 2009, on French TV "France2" on the fabulous show "la boîte à musique" from Jean-François Zygel. What was there ? Lydia Kavina and her theremin. the "T-Vox
Tour". This was quite a shock for me....
So, one week after, I bought my theremin, an "Etherewave Plus" through the internet. Since then, I play, I play, I play....
My goal, for this instrument is to make it as free as possible, I mean I want to use it everywhere, anytime. We'll see on later posts my theremin adventure !!
